King Phycus is a hilarious Shakespeare parody written by Tom Willmorth. The world premiere performance in Chicago is directed by Ira Amax and runs June 16th – July 31st 2010. Visit www.strangetree.org for details.
The artwork for the show was made by Phineas X. Jones. I modified the artist’s image of King Phycus into a stencil design.
With some help from the King Phycus crew I spent two days posting stencils in Chicago. The general public reaction to the stencils was overwhelmingly positive. Folks were inquisitive, and excited to lean about mud stencils. I even got some extra help applying mud from passersby’s.
